24 February 2022Reshaping operations through digitalisation
1 March 2022In Boustead Plantations Berhad, you’ll never walk alone.
As we move towards realising our aspiration of becoming a sustainable technology-based plantation company, we want our dedicated employees to grow together with us as we embark on this journey.
Towards realising that end, we have conducted another townhall session with our Chief Executive Officer Zainal Abidin Shariff today in keeping our employees updated with the current happenings while at the same time getting feedbacks from them to further drive our company forward. The two-hour hybrid session which was held informally saw the participation from all BPB employees, from the senior management team down to our operations in estates and mills nationwide.
Zainal Abidin emphasised on the need to manage the cost and plan on the yield and productivity improvement by leveraging on the advancement of technology and mechanisation in sustaining business for the future, as well as overcoming traditional problems via capitalising on Internet of Things, automation and artificial intelligence.
The aspect of Environmental, Social and Governance continue to take centre stage in our operations, with progressive steps being made in in embracing green and sustainable approaches for the sake of our future generations.
We have made plenty of remarkable achievements last year in terms of performance, with our revenue surged to RM1.1 billion for the first time since our listing in 2014. With the combined will and strength from all members of Keluarga Boustead Plantations, it is not impossible to repeat the same success or even do more in 2022.
During the session, Zainal Abidin shared about a book he is currently reading titled “Quiet”, which he described as brilliant while relating the content to his own experience. He emphasised that everyone should progress on self-development agenda to continuously improve and become competent in their own field.
As usual, En Zainal ended the session with a pantun:
Tuan Raja Pergi Ke Rawa,
Burung Terkukur Indah Suara,
Awali kerja dengan doa,
Akhiri dengan syukur pada Nya.
