Since the commencement of business, our Group has achieved the following key achievements and milestones.
1828Boustead & Company was established in Singapore.
1910The Barlow family involved in large scale agriculture, primarily rubber and palm oil, in Malaya.
1946Incorporated as public limited company under the name of The Kuala Sidim Rubber Company Limited (KSRCL).
1960Boustead & Company was split into Boustead Plc in London and Boustead Holdings Bhd (BHB), which held the Singapore and Malaysia assets.
KSRCL began converting rubber crops to oil palm.
1966Changed name to The Kuala Sidim Rubber Company Berhad (KSRCB).
Barlow Boustead Estates Agency Limited (BBEA) was established through merger between BHB and Barlow & Company.
1969BBEA became substantial shareholders of KSRCB and assumed role of managing agent.
1970KSRCB began acquiring landbank in Sabah.
1973BHB was split into BHB, which held the Malaysia assets, and Taiping Singapore Pte Ltd, which held the Singapore, Hong Kong and Brunei assets.
KSRCB was listed on Bursa Securities and Singapore Stock Exchange
KSRCB established Highland Research Unit Sdn Bhd (HRU), a joint venture agricultural research entity.
1976BHB became a wholly-owned Malaysian entity with Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) as its shareholder.
1977Nationalisation of BBEA with shares purchased by BHB, FELDA, Tabung Haji and LTAT.
1982BHB acquired all interest in BBEA. Renamed it to Boustead Estates Agency Sdn Bhd (BEA).
1986Co-founded Applied Agricultural Resources Sdn Bhd, an agricultural research and advisory services unit.
1987Disposed entire interest in HRU.
1990Delisted from Singapore Stock Exchange.
1993Became the principal listed vehicle for BHB Group’s plantation interests.
1994Changed name to Kuala Sidim Berhad.
Began expanding oil palm business in Sarawak.
Expanded directly owned plantation interests
2003Delisted from Bursa Securities following takeover offer by BHB.
2004Changed name to Boustead Plantations Berhad (BPB).
2007Al-Hadharah Boustead REIT listed on the Main Market of Bursa Securities.
2013Acquired 2,400 hectares (ha) of oil palm plantations land in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
Privatisation of Al-Hadharah Boustead REIT.
Acquired BEA from BHB.
2014Relisting of BPB on Bursa Malaysia.
2017Disposal of 678 ha Malakoff Estate, Penang.
2018Acquired 11,579 ha of oil palm plantation land in Labuk and Sugut, Sabah.
2019Acquired 4,415 ha of palm plantation land and palm oil mill in Beluran, Kinabatangan and Labuk and Sugut, Sabah.

🗓 28 September 2021Proposed disposal of Kulai Young Estate, Johor.
🗓 28 December 2021BPB achieved a record-high revenue of RM1.1 billion, the first since relisting on Bursa Malaysia in 2014.
