Though safety regulations are strictly enforced in our operations, the key to a safe working environment lies in our own hands.

In ensuring workers’ preparedness on the possibility of emergency events, our Mapai Estate in Sarawak recently collaborated with the Fire and Rescue Department to conduct a fire drill and emergency response plan exercise to 30 estate personnel.

Staff and workers of Mapai Estate were trained by personnel from Balai Bomba Kanowit in dealing with emergency situations by learning on managing small fires effectively, preparing evacuation plan and emergency response procedures.

Such exercise is important as it helps in building confidence among estate workers in the event of real emergency.

Similar trainings are periodically being held in our estates and mills as we continue to maintain a healthy, conducive and sustainable working environment for our staff and workers.
