Today, we fulfil our obligation to the asnaf in Perak by paying a business zakat of RM296,623 to Majlis Agama Islam dan ‘Adat Melayu Perak (MAIPk).
The payment was presented by BPB Chief Financial Officer Mohamad Mahazir Mustaffa to MAIPk Chief Executive Officer Shahrul Azam Shaari at a handover ceremony held at MAIPk head office in Ipoh.
The payment today is part of the RM3.2 million business zakat obligation for financial year 2021 that is paid to zakat institutions nationwide.
The business zakat will go to assist communities in need nationwide, especially among those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
