13 January 2022More often than not, our operation leads us towards the path of improving the quality of life of communities that we touched. Part of our social uplifting efforts include providing opportunities to the Orang Asli community living in the vicinity of our estates and mills.
Bebar Estate, one of our operations in Pahang, employs more than 30 Orang Asli from the Temuan tribe to work in different sectors in our plantation. From becoming harvesters to operating machines, the group were provided with adequate training to better equip them with the necessary skills in the estate.
Having a job does not only provide them with a fixed monthly income. The Orang Asli also enjoy other employment benefits, such as healthcare and treatment at our estate’s clinic.
Growing income opens up better opportunities for the Orang Asli to improving their living standard. They can now invest more for their children’s education and provide better healthcare for their family members.
As an ESG-driven plantation company, we want our community to grow together with us.
