In plantation, height can be a challenge. As palm trees get higher with age, harvesters would usually have to spend more time and energy to harvest from older and mature trees. Imagine turning your head up while holding a long, heavy pole to pick your favourite fruits from a tall tree. It’s a time-consuming process and equally taxing!

As part of our yield improvement initiatives, we are introducing a super lightweight and durable oil palm harvesting poles in our estates as solution to address the issue of tall palm harvesting.

We have conducted a series of training and engagement programme with our estates nationwide to ensure an effective use of the tall palm harvesting technology. The first session was held in our Sungai Jernih Business Unit on April 12, which was conducted by Head of Performance Monitoring Unit Rozaini Abd Ghani.

We are optimistic to improve our yield with the implemented mechanisation at our operations, in line with our aspiration to become a sustainable and technology-based plantation.
