Keluarga Boustead Plantations from headquarters and Sungai Jernih Business Unit today conducted a special relief mission to assist residents of Kampung Teladas in Air Putih,Terengganu, who were affected by the recent east coast floods.

BPB CEO Zainal Abidin Shariff led a team from LTT Terengganu Estate, Sungai Jernih Estate and Bebar Estate to provide post-flood recovery effort to several families that were still recuperating from the disaster. Also present were Head of Sungai Jernih Business Unit Shaikh Zamani Shaikh Saaid and LTT Terengganu Estate Manager Winton Martin.

The relief mission is part of BPB Corporate Social Responsibility effort to support the needs of communities in the vicinity of our operations.

At the mission, Zainal Abidin also presented monetary assistance and food baskets to five families that were severely impacted by the flood catastrophe.

Staying true to the Malay custom, Zainal Abidin recited a pantun during his meet-up with Kampung Teladas residents:

Kalau pergi Tanjung Keramat,
Anak manis jangan diangkat,
Bersama kita memohon rahmat,
Moga majlis mendapat berkat.

Lebat Kemiri pohonnya rendah,
Dahan terikat tali perkasa,
Sepuluh jari kami menadah,
Mohon berkat yang Maha Esa.
