More than 50 participants consisting of Boustead Plantations Berhad’s (BPlant) management team, heads of business unit and estate and mill managers in Sabah participated in BPlant Management Retreat 2022 for Sabah region, which begins today.

The three-day programme held at Hotel Sabah, Sandakan, was opened by BPlant Chief Executive Officer Zainal Abidin Shariff earlier today.

In his keynote address, Zainal Abidin emphasised the importance for BPlant to align its planning and strategies in accordance to the principles of environmental, social and governance, or ESG, in line with the company’s aspiration to become a sustainable technology-based plantation company.

He also stressed on the need of leveraging the use of modern agricultural technology and digitalising plantation process to not only futureproof the company but also build a solid foundation to accelerate company’s growth. 

The board retreat is an annual programme held to cascade BPlant’s initiatives and direction, as well as deliberate on the company’s future strategies.
