Loagan Bunut Estate joins hand with local community in mosque ‘gotong-royong’

Being among the major plantation companies in the country, our duty to the community extends beyond our day-to-day operations.
In fulfilling our commitment to assist the disadvantaged group, Boustead Plantations Berhad continued to engage with our community outreach initiatives via wakalah distribution to the asnaf.
Wakalah is an assignation of authority to zakat payers to distribute zakat money by themselves to eligible asnaf group.
In the event held recently at our Segaria Estate in Sabah, our board members Maj. Gen. Dato’ Seri Khairuddin Abu Bakar (R) J.P and Dr. Salihin Abang distributed the wakalah to 21 eligible receipients.
The wakalah distribution is part of our dedication to steadfastly adhere to best practices in Environmental, Social and Governance principles.
The event also saw Dato’ Seri Khairuddin officiating Masjid Nurul Iman, a new mosque in to facilitate the need of Muslim community of Segaria Estate and Segaria Mill.
As Ramadan is fast approaching us, the new mosque is expected to be fully-utilised by the surrounding community in fulfilling their religious obligations.
