In our pursuit towards sustainable operations, we have put several mechanisms in place with an aim to repurpose our plantation by-products and reducing environmental impact from our operation.

Our Biogas Plant in Telok Sengat Palm Oil Mill in Kota Tinggi, Johor, is one example of our long-standing commitment towards greener and cleaner operation.

The Biogas Plant is able to generate its own electricity by converting plantation waste. Liquid biomass consisting of POME is transformed into biogas, which is then captured through a covered lagoon biodigester system at our mill. The biogas is then converted to generate electricity, which is then utilised for milling and domestic consumption.

The generation of renewable source of energy at the biogas plant allows us to significantly reduce our carbon footprint as well as reliance on fossil fuel.

As we embark on a journey to become a sustainable and technology-based plantation company, we actively explore new initiatives to turn our waste into opportunities in line with our adherence to the principles of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
