29 July 2022The preservation of biodiversity is important as a means to protect the delicate balance that exists between different species of flora and fauna in the ecosystem. Many of our plantations are in areas that are high in biodiversity value.
In our commitment to maintain the balance, we have demarcated a total of 576 hectares of jungle patches, wetlands and riparian buffer zones as High Conservation Value areas.
We also work with external parties, such as PERHILITAN, Forestry Department and non-governmental organisations to preserve these areas. Wildlife in our plantations is documented and monitored regularly.
We remain committed to maintain our treasure trove of biodiversity, in line with the principles of environmental, social and governance that we steadfastly adhered to.
