Boustead Plantations Pays Over RM3.2 Million in Business Zakat for FY2021

17 December 2021Boustead Plantations Berhad today presented its first business zakat payment for financial year 2021 amounting to RM270,000 to Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Melayu Terengganu (MAIDAM).
The business zakat was presented by BPB Chief Executive Officer Zainal Abidin Shariff to MAIDAM Chief Executive Officer Haji M. Rozi bin Bidin at a ceremony held at MAIDAM Head Office in Kuala Terengganu.
BPB is paying a total of RM3,217,153 to fulfil its business zakat obligation for the financial year ending 31 December 2021, which will go towards various zakat institutions and eligible zakat recipients.
As a socially-responsible plantation company that embraces Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) values, BPB ensures that it fulfills its zakat obligation which in turn support communities in need by providing with much-needed lifelines, especially amongst the asnaf, who have been severely affected by the challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.
