19 January 2022Boustead Plantations Berhad continues to fulfil its responsibility to assist those in need through a business zakat payment of RM150,000 to Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Perlis (MAIPs).
In a ceremony held at MAIPs head office in Kangar today, BPB Strategy and Corporate Development Head Khairudin Ibrahim presented the payment to MAIPs Chief Executive Officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor.
The payment to MAIPs is part of BPB’s RM3.2 million business zakat obligation for financial year 2021 that is paid to zakat institutions nationwide.
For the northern states – namely Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak – BPB had committed a total of RM1.2 million of business zakat payment to the respective zakat institutions.
The business zakat will go to assist communities in need nationwide, especially among those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
BPB ensures that it fulfils its zakat obligation which in turn support communities in need, especially amongst the asnaf.
