Continuing with our journey towards becoming a sustainable technology-based plantation company, we have organised a third townhall session for 2022 this morning to interact directly with our operatives throughout Malaysia.

Our CEO Zainal Abidin Shariff engaged with all Boustead Plantations Berhad’s (BPB) employees at headquarters and our operations nationwide, keeping them up-to-date on the company’s direction as well as getting valuable feedbacks to drive BPB forward.

During the two-hour hybrid session, Zainal Abidin shared some progress on the company’s performance, as well as strategies and initiatives taken to further contribute towards improving BPB’s standing.

Zainal Abidin also emphasised on the integration of mechanisation and digitalisation in plantation operations to enhance upstream capability and simplify workflow.

In driving change to future-proof our operations, Zainal Abidin called for everyone to remain focus on the three key aspects of technology, integrity, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.

In embracing tradition, Zainal Abidin shared a ‘pantun’ with all participants at the end of the session:
Biarlah orang bertanam buluh,
Mari kita bertanam padi,
Biarlah orang bertanam musuh,
Mari kita bertanam budi.
