In Boustead Plantations Berhad, we strongly believe that no one should be deprived of access to basic healthcare, more so during these challenging times of COVID-19. As a company that adheres to the principles of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), we hold to our pledge of providing a healthy, conducive and sustainable environment to not only our employees but to the general populace.
Since the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic, we have collaborated with government health agencies and various other organisations to provide vaccination access to our estate and mill workers nationwide. Most of the time, the initiatives are also extended to the workers’ family members as well as community from surrounding settlements.
This month, our Loagan Bunut Estate – one of our remote operations in inland Sarawak – continued this social responsibility initiative by conducting a mass vaccination programme for its workers and community members from surrounding villages.
The programme, held in collaboration with the Health Ministry, saw 60 people received their booster shot to build up protection against COVID-19 virus. Seven medical staff from Klinik Long Lama, led by Dr. Devendra M, ensured the smoothness of the programme.
Providing vaccination access does not only provide the necessary health securities to our operations at large. It also contributes to our fight against COVID-19.
