21 March 2022As part of its journey in upholding the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, Boustead Plantations Berhad (BPB) via its Human Resource and Administration Department held a webinar on “Sexual Harassment Management at Workplace” for all its employees at headquarters, estates and mills nationwide.
The webinar which was conducted by the Head of Human Resource himself, En Mohd Fadzly bin Mahyuddin raised awareness and identifies behaviour that would constitute harassment, and provides methods by which employee can report harassment. Close to 240 employees attended the 2 hours webinar.
En Fadzly, who has more than 25 years of experience in all functional areas of human resources shared various court cases involving harassment which some of them he himself handled prior joining BPB.
As an employer, BPB realised that having a sexual harassment policy is crucial in both discouraging inappropriate behaviour and protecting the employee if something happens at the workplace.
BPB CEO, En Zainal Abidin Shariff in his officiating speech stated that any harassment or inappropriate behaviour will not only created unsafe and uncomfortable working environment but will also tarnish company’s reputation. He stressed that such behaviour will not be tolerated and that all employees must embed good behaviour in their lifestyle.
