BOD, CEO visit Tawai Business Unit
29 December 2021Official working visit to Sabah ends with visit to Segamaha Business Unit
30 December 2021Portions of our natural landscapes within our plantation are maintained as they inherit values of outstanding significance. These areas are designated as High Conservation Values (HCV).
Several endangered and protected species made HCVs their natural habitat. Therefore, protecting and preserving the areas is an important task to ensure the natural ecosystem remain to be enjoyed by our future generations.
Part of the agenda of our Board of Directors and Management official working visit to Sabah is to view sustainability practices in our estates and mills, as well as measures taken to protect the wildlife in the surrounding areas.
During a visit to Sutera Estate in Sabah, the group had a thorough discussion on the system implemented by the estate in monitoring HCVs. A well-established system goes a long way in protecting and preserving our biodiversity.
As with our mission towards sustainable operations, preservation of special conservation sites is a responsibility entrusted to us, in line with the principles of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
